- The Hertfordshire man had £19,900 invested and the other saver held £30,000
- Over 3.3million prizes were handed out in August, worth £95million
Hertfordshire scored its second Premium Bond millionaire in three months, with a man from the county nabbing one of NS&I’s two £1million prizes for August.
The unnamed saver who won the jackpot bought his winning bond in November 2016, and had £19,900 invested in Britain’s most popular savings product.
He was one of August’s two jackpot winners, with a saver from Cheshire also nabbing the top prize.

The other Premium Bond millionaire is a woman from Cheshire West and Chester, and had bought her winning Bond 13 years ago in January 2006. She holds £30,000 in Premium Bonds.
While Hertfordshire has won two jackpots in three months, Cheshire West and Chester has only seen two winners in the last year, with the £1million prize last being won by a saver from the region in November 2018.
Over 22million savers hold Premium Bonds, with £78.9billion invested in the Government-backed savings product. You can start saving with a minimum of £25 and withdraw the money any time.
Bonds have a typical return of 1.4 per cent, but not all savers win prizes. Any single Bond has a 24,500 to 1 of winning any prize of £25 or more, while it has a 40.33billion to 1 chance of landing you a visit from Agent Million.
